Re: Donny's TOS Enterprise Interiors
All righty....
Forgive the long break. It was needed. Didn't finish the Batmobile I'd started, but got a good bit of work done and will probably complete some time later (which you can view
here, if interested). More importantly, I learned some new modelling techniques which will come in handy when crafting some of the more detailed and curvy shaped models down the line for these Trek projects.
I also got side-tracked by a new space-flight simulator MMO called Elite: Dangerous. Had fun playing that for a while, but am anxious to return to work on the TWOK-era sickbay.
While I'm working on some more knick-knacks for McCoy's desk, I wanted to ask you guys something. The subject in question is McCoy's office chair in TWOK, seen below:
Most of the chair is, of course, covered by McCoy, but I thought the sides of the chair bear resemblance to the TNG command chairs:
What do you guys think? Could it be that the TNG command chairs were actually modified versions of the chairs found in McCoy's office? A head-rest and straps on the side were obviously added in TNG if so, but unless anyone can pinpoint the exact type of chair that McCoy is sitting in, I'd say they're the same. It also appears that the seat and back cushions were probably modified from the original version as well, but the sides look very similar.
(The chair in which Carol Marcus resides seems to also be of the same type, much different from the
chair seen in TMP)
Thoughts?
