I recall from the novelisation that the bat insignia on the hubcaps was the only way Vicki Vale was able to identify the batmobile in the car park! Given the size of the vehicle in general, that always seemed odd to me
OMG - this is my favorite Batmobile! Amazing job. Great to see you back Donny. Somehow this board just isn't complete without you. Hope the new job has been fun.
Ah, thanks! I've missed the boards quite a lot the past few months, and I'm glad I now have the energy to tackle something outside of work again that I can also share with you all. Last couple days of progress: modeled the turbine and exhaust area. Still have to model the side mechanics, detail the underside, model the interior, and of course texture it. Still a long way to go but it's looking presentable!
Yeah, both of those things ‘bout killed me! The fins especially. I must’ve spent 3-4 days on them alone, and had to start over after my first attempt was no good. This project has pushed me a lot in terms of complex geometry! Also, that theme song has been stuck in my head for weeks now
Over at The RPF, someone did a physical model. Not just pure black…just a tad of purple in the finish. You might try that if possible.
I haven't gotten to the texturing phase yet, but I've done some research and the 92 Batmobile (Batman Returns) was indeed painted a very very very dark green with dark purple metallic on the edges to give them some highlight. I'll be experimenting with this for sure.
Man, I love the extreme level of accuracy and detail you're putting into this. It's at the point where the only thing I could suggest is having the nuts turned at slightly different angles.
Nah...Michael Keaton's version of Bruce Wayne strikes me as the kinda guy who would clock his fasteners.
In that case I can only mention again that I love the extreme level of accuracy you're achieving here!
