Donny's Non-Trek Stuff

Never would have guessed that.

I haven't gotten to the texturing phase yet, but I've done some research and the 92 Batmobile (Batman Returns) was indeed painted a very very very dark green with dark purple metallic on the edges to give them some highlight. I'll be experimenting with this for sure.
That tracks; I was recently at the Railroad Museum of Pennsylvania where one of the trains they have on exhibit is an old Pennsylvania Railroad GG1, painted a shade of "Brunswick green" so dark that you'd think it was black until you got up close and there was some good sunlight on it.

You never really want to paint much of anything save the Monolith black. it just doesn't work outside of Vader's helmet, say.

Steampunk can be even worse--but he has filled that dead space perfectly there again.

Spent the weekend detailing the underside. Yes, the underside! I went with the AMT model kit details, and didn't really stray too far from those. The textures are super super temporary, just wanted to put something on there with some wear and tear for now.

This is amazing. I've only ever had some Hot Wheels replicas of that Batmobile, and none of them had this sort of detail underneath.

I've got to ask, are you going to work in some of the weaponry they used in '89 and Returns?

My plan is to go ahead and get the exterior painted and finished. I want that done at the bare minimum. Then I’m going to do the interior cockpit, if my motivation maintains after the exterior is done. After that, I’ll consider adding the machine guns, grappling hook, and launchable discs.

I will say, my motivation is starting to wane, so I’m not sure if I’ll make it to the weapon phase. We’ll see!

The wear and tear detailing is amazing!
