The Donald has been appearing on various news networks saying he could run on the GOP ticket in 2012.

The 64-year-old Wharton School graduate went on Fox and Friends and CNN Oct. 4, to say he is seriously thinking about “making a run for the president,” due to the economic turmoil he believes our country is in.

“If this country keeps going in the direction financially that we are going in, it will be about 10-12 years before China overtakes us.”

(Never mind that Donald Trump has filed for bankruptcy three times.)

This all came about when New Hampshire residents were randomly polled about possible 2012 Republican candidates, 30 questions were asked about Donald Trump. When CNN’s Ali Velshi asked Donald why his name would be included in such a poll, the hardcore Republican scoffed but said he could see why they would include his name.

“I really like the people of New Hampshire because they are strong people, they are intelligent people,” he said. “They know what’s happening to this country is wrong. So I can understand why I did well in a poll.”

Donald Trump Says He's Seriously Considering Running For President.

Real estate mogul Donald Trump said on Tuesday's edition of "Morning Joe" on MSNBC that he's "absolutely thinking about" making a bid for the White House in 2012.

The same day, Trump told Fox News that if he were to mount a presidential campaign he'd run as a Republican.

"I'm totally being serious because I can't stand what's happening to the country," said the New York-based businessman to the network. "I am being serious about it. I've been asked for years to do it. And I had no interest. This is the first time I am -- at least I'm considering it."

Trump stressed that while he's thinking about running for president, it's premature to say whether or not he'll bite the bullet in the end.

I hope not...I don't think the GOP is that stupid.

Hey...I'd want to see what his views are on everything else...but it figures we need someone awesome on the ticket, to put the election in the bag....

(Frankly, I'm a "Chris Christie" guy--but he said flat-out he's not going to run. Herman Cain looks very promising--and has an awesome personality all his own, too. Still...The Don on the ticket does sound pretty sweet....)

But...Woodrow Wilson was a strong president, and an effective leader (in a sense). He was also an evil, racist, fascist ball of slime.

Bill Clinton was a very effective dealmaker, and a clever, practical politician. He was also a sexist pig and a perjurer.

Either one of those would count as "least first rate".
