Don Marshall R.I.P.

He was good. I used to think he'd been a semi-regular. But no. Anyway, good character, but ST couldn't take quite that much conflict. Boma wasn't one of those lurkers on the Bridge out to mock Spock in the last scene was he? I can see his career on the ship getting very uncomfortable, after that incident.

Too bad they pretty much ended the recurring crew members after season one.
Only Kyle showed up frequently. Lt Palmer twice. M'Benga twice.

But the reuse of characters in season one was something I loved.

Actually it was Leslie's twin brother Conner who died in Obsession! LOL
Had to be two of them as they were multiple episodes where he is two places at once.

In Squire he is operating the transporter and when the crew rushes to the bridge -- he is sitting in the command chair! He/they, wore red, blue and green and was the ultimate "utility" man/men.

As far as crew who first appeared in season 2 and then made more than one appearance -- pretty sure it's only Palmer and M'benga, Johnson -- and Chekov.

List of crew who appeared in season one in more than one episode --
Kelowitz
Riley
Angela
Hansen
Galloway
Wilson
unnamed blond laughing guy from Naked Time
transporter guy from Man Trap
DeSalle
DePaul
Leslie
Farrell
Fields
Rand
Kyle
Chapel
O'Neal

That's pretty impressive and shames the next two seasons.

Well either that or they sent his clone down to the planet or his twin brother or his first cousin or...

According to the behind-the-scenes book "These Are the Voyages", producers actually intended to bring Boma back, but Marshall was unavailable, due to "Land of the Giants".

If that hadn't been the case, one wonders if he might've become a semi-regular, or even regular character on the show, perhaps continuing in the movies.

And, yes, he was the last of the "Galileo Seven".

Apparently, in one of the novels, Scotty got Boma court martialed and kicked out of Starfleet after the episode for his insubordination towards Spock , which frankly sounds out of character for Scotty.

I think with a command tunic on, he would have made a good regular navigator. Chekov just seemed kind of 2 dimensional to me. Bland.

Ross was LISTED as Galloway in the end credits of "Turnabout.." but NEVER referred to by name in the episode. He is no more than playing Galloway than Nichols was playing someone named UHURU in TUC.
End credits errors are not canon.

And that "they filmed a resurrection scene" for Leslie is complete hogwash made up by Paskey years later.
There is zero chance anybody in the production or writer or director gave a darn about making sure an a background extra was "officially" resurrected so he could be a stand in for future episodes.
