Domino's Pizza changed it's recipe

It's goes way further than just food. Everything we make is the best.
Can't argue about the women. Italian chicks = hot (and if the wife sees this, you're the only Italian chick I'm checking out)

Can't disagree with this one bit. Italian women? Oh... my... GOD!

Not to go into details: But being married to a fiery Italian woman does have its "benefits"

This seals it, next meet-up planned.

Yeah...why does that sound like a set up for a scene from a Godfather movie.

The original Ledos, on University Boulevard near College Park, MD. Period, full stop.

Indeed. Ledo's pizza is just unique. I've never tasted anything remotely similar to it.

As far as chains are concerned, I prefer Papa Johns. A large, thin-crust, extra-cheese pizza is amazing.

And while I've never lived in or near NYC, I love the pizza there. I'm not a deep-dish fan (too much unnecessary bread), so NY-style wins out over Chicago-style, sorry.

Food snob. I'll say it. Italian food is great, I love it, but come on.

Yeah, but if you go to Italy, they just give deathstares at Americans. Probably the only disappointing thing there.

Oh, and about leftover pizza. I ate pizza in a box on my table that had been there for four days and was fine (that I did heat up to be on the safe side. It was pepperoni (well, what's called pepperoni outside of Italy) pizza, so I didn't want to take chances with the meat). I usually eat pizza cold as a breakfast food. Even if I wanted it warm, I'd eat a cold slice while waiting for the other slices to heat up.

This seals it, next meet-up planned.

Now that I might go to. I haven't been to NYC in awhile anyway.

Eating perishables that have been unrefrigerated overnight and sometimes days?! Been crossing busy freeways blindfolded or playing Russian Roulette too? One of these days a couple of the wrong bacteria are going to float onto those "treats" and you're going to end up in the emergency room spewing horrible fluids from both ends (assuming you don't end up laying in one of those refrigerated drawers in the basement). And some species of bacteria that thrive in things like meat (that's not pretty salty or very dry) and soft cheeses produce toxic chemicals that will not be destroyed by subsequent cooking.

Like meatloaf and potato salad there are many different recipes for pizza. Thick crust, thin crust, soft crust, crispy crust, deep dish, painted on toppings, non-traditional toppings like BBQ chicken and pineapple. In many cases people have strong preferences for recipes similar to the recipies they are accustomed to eating. Don't be surprised if someone hates the recipes you love and you hate the recipe they love.

I think there were a few cases where pizza chains had to pay expensive liability claims to people who had collisions with delivery drivers trying to meet "on time or it's free" deadlines.

Strangely enough, the pineapple thing doesn't really bother me. I can see myself eating a slice with BBQ and pineapple on it. I do love me some BBQ pizza (California Pizza Kitchen makes it great).

I will probably never understand why anyone would want to eat leftover pizza cold, though. It's not like it's a huge effort to heat it up. It takes maybe a minute, tops. So I can only assume that people must like it better cold than hot. And my question then is, WHY? What is it about leftover pizza that makes it taste better cold than hot? I guess this is just one of the things I missed the boat on.

Although, just so it doesn't seem that I am totally dense regarding food choices, I know enough to not order ketchup on a hot dog if I ever go to Chicago. ;)

Sammy's Pizza in St. Cloud Minnesota used to have a "once around the kitchen" special. It had every topping known to man and a bit of whatever they were cooking at the time. Boy that was good.

If someone likes exotic toppings, fine.

Same if they like eating their pizza at room temperature. But if you leave it at room tempeture for more than a couple of hours you're giving some nasty bacteria an opportunity to multiply. Refrigeration slows the bacteria's reproductive processes. That's why health departments won't allow restaurants to leave such foods at temperatures between 40°F and 120°F for very long.

I probably like a few things (although not necessarily as pizza toppings) that don't appeal to others. Lots of people, especially people in the northern US don't appreciate hominy grits. Grits aren't as exotic as most people imagine, since white corn nacho chips are essentially fried hominy grits.

I love grits. Strange for a Midwesterner to say, but it's true. And you know where I first had them? Kansas City. Yep. It was at the Denny's across from Kauffman Stadium (I was in town for a few Royals games).

I freaking love the stuff. I don't put a lot of toppings on, just a bit of salt.

I just prefer the ... "greasy" taste of a cold pizza. Then again, I'll cook a beef stew, and then stick it in the fridge till it gets a little bit of fat on top...a thick piece of french bread...hmmmm.

I don't suppose they ever factored in whether there were delays in actually making cooking the pizza or did the driver get in the neck reguardless?

Probably not. The reason they dropped it was because of lawsuits (I believe involving running a redlight and possibly fatalities).

In 1992, the company settled a lawsuit brought by the family of an Indiana woman who had been killed by a Domino's delivery driver, paying the family US$ 2.8 million. In 1993, Domino's settled another lawsuit, this one brought by a woman who was injured when a Domino's delivery driver ran a red light and rear-ended her. The woman was paid nearly US$ 80 million. The guarantee was dropped that same year because of the "public perception of reckless driving and irresponsibility", according to Monaghan
