Wook at da widdle shnookums!
And it's amazing all the dog breeds are still the same species. And, on a genetic level they are still so closely related to wolves that, if I am correct, one can, in theory, breed a dog with a wolf and the offspring will be "viable", meaning they can breed as well. Obviously, there are certain practical limitations. Odds are things will not pan out introducing wolf sperm into a female Chihuahua, but the opposite would pose little problem....providing the Chi' can jump high enough to, ahem, reach the wolf.![]()
If you think about it, it really is insane how we've mutated dogs since we domesticated them. They started out basically as wolves, but now we have everything from tiny Chihuahuas to Irish Wolf Hounds.
All ours had asthma and joint issues. We loved them but have resolved that if we ever get another it will be a rescue.Poor English Bulldogs can barely even breath half the time.

Unfortunately a lot of bullies are given up because of their health issues. We honestly just don’t want to encourage any more breeding. Puppies of any breed are so adorabull but we want to give old duffers another chance. Those are the two biggest issues with the bulldog. Problem is, it's been going on so long, a rescue is as likely to have those problems as any breeder's dog. Still, they're really cool dogs.
