Doggies, Doggos and Doggeroos!

Took my friends two dogs to the vet yesterday for them as they couldn't afford to.

Their little chihuahua had really bad breath and it seems the little guy needs a bunch of teeth removed. Going to be between $1000-1400. But he's worth it.

I’m so sorry. That’s so incredibly kind of you to do!!!

Fred has had 12 teeth removed. Apparently it’s because they’re so small and close to the ground. They are more susceptible to mouth and teeth issues.

Haha!! He will eat around every piece of carrot and broccoli!!!

The way some dogs eat you'd think they'd be going to fast to avoid something they don't like.

but no it gets left behind in the bowl.

Our rottie was like that though I can't remember what it was he avoided. Probably something like broccoli or cauliflower.

He’s doing okay. He’s on a low fat diet because of his pancreas though. Hopefully that’s better for his teeth than dog food! We feed him baked chicken and veggies. He almost never eats the veggies.

How was the recovery process after having his teeth removed? Milo will be staying with me while he recovers. I am not sure what to expect, I have an eye dropper to give him water. lol How long until they can eat afterwards? Will he be in pain?

Down at his home there is another dog, 3 cats and an 18 month old human. Nice and quiet at my place. lol

Not sure about veggies, but Milo loves watermelon.

Surgery is Feb 04.

He will definitely need to eat soft food or you can moisten his kibble with hot chicken broth, just to make it mushy. I would say do this for at least a week. They will give you pain killers for him that you will administer using a syringe (needless) to put in his mouth. He will probably sleep a lot but he shouldn’t be in any pain. They may also give you some antibiotics to help with the healing process. He’ll be okay after a couple days!! Just make sure you keep an eye on it for infection. <3

OK cool thanks. Yes, already prepared with soft food. I was wondering about medication. I am sure the vet will give me instructions on everything.

Gracie will eat almost anything, except lettuce. If one of us is eating a salad with lettuce and we give her some, she will suck off the dressing or whatever is on it, and then spit out the plain lettuce. She used to do the same thing with pretzel sticks, if you dipped in something and gave it to her, she'd suck off whatever you dipped it in a spit out the pretzel, and if you try to give her a plain pretzel she'll refuse to take unless you dip it. Now she will actually eat plain pretzels.
