Doggies, Doggos and Doggeroos!

Yeah, Milo's a big, goofy lab mix and he absolutely has me wrapped around his paw (and he knows it). The other day I was taking a nap on the couch, Milo decided to crash right upon my chest, then my girlfriend walked upstairs from her office and saw us, and she just laughed and said, "Sucker."
He knows who’s the real boss in the house ;)

Anyone have experience with large dogs that have high prey drives? There's a husky at the shelter I'd love to get, but it's already an adult and the shelter doesn't do dog/cat testing. I inquired about the dog, and the person who replied doesn't seem to understand prey drive and thinks that it could be friendly enough for a slow introduction to cats.

I lived with a husky when I was a teen, but he was with us since puppyhood and our cat taught him she was boss early on. See if you can talk to a manager-type at the shelter. It's all going to depend on the dog's previous life experience.

See if they will let you do a test-walk on the leash and see how he reacts to any animals--birds, squirrels, etc.

I'd ask specifically to those who had sled dogs. Having a Husky isn't like having a Lab or German Shepard, from what I've heard.

Husky is gone, so I don't have to worry about it eating the cat now. I guess it wasn't going to stay in the shelter for very long at only $175.
