yes our rottie used to do that when he was young.

Of course he was also known to bring his bowl in early and hope he got lucky.

Though after destroying his plastic bowl once too often my brother bought a metal food bowl but he never carried that.

I'm not sure I want to show this one to my cousin, at least not right now. She's had a pair of English Retrievers for more than a decade and the elder one "passed" about two weeks ago.

Thanks. Years ago she had surgery to stave off ovarian cancer...before he had the opportunity to bear children, so now she never can. Emotionally, her dogs have been her kids. At least "Daisy" passed of her own accord, saving my cousin having to make that most agonizing of decisions. Though only a year younger, "Bella" still seems to be in good health.
