Does Trump know what he is doing? Well....
1: Do you mean, does Trump have a master plan or plans, where he has done much reading and research, and taken in and understood knowledge, and done lots of slow, deep, rational thought? Then, the answer is no, he doesn't know what he is doing.

2: Do you mean, does Trump take deliberate actions that he has intuited within seconds (using his intuitive thought process - his common sense, best judgment, intuition and instincts) feel like a good idea, not necessarily for the country, but feel like a good action for Trump to do/say he's going to do? Because saying that will get Trump attention, make Trump look good, everyone will listen and enough listeners will common sense that it was a great statement, so they like Trump and tell him how great he is? Because in that case. he does know what he is doing.
