In most of the fleet battle scenes, we see wave after wave of the peregine class fighters fight against much larger dominion/cardassian cruisers/battleships. But I don't think we ever saw an instance of a peregine taking on something similar to its own size during fleet battles. Why is that?
Also, in one scene of "Sacrifice of Angels." We have the following exchange.
"There are more than 1200 Dominion vessels waiting for us."
"They outnumber us 2 to 1."
When Bashir is referring to their own fleet having only 600 vessels, if he counting the Peregine class fighters? I sure hope not because the fighters seem like they are no better than canon fodder in all of the fleet battles.
