Does coffee make you aggressive?

O... kay? I was being tongue-in-cheek because I thought your opinions on caffeine were rather over-the-top. I mean, if you were joking yourself, then you didn't exactly make it obvious, and if you're serious, then, frankly, I think I'm still within my rights to think that's ridiculous.

And if the mods think that's a flame, then so be it, but I feel as though I remained well within the acceptable level of discourse for Misc. When you post something like that, you have to expect at least a few incredulous responses.
I was under the impression that a flame was insulting people you disagree with. You think my POV is ridiculous. But there can be no discussion if the response is to insult each other. I didn't notify mods or any of that horseshit.
Just look at all the people in this thread who simply cannot function well without their caffeine fix. I really don't think I'm underestimating the addiction. The effects on personality are subtle, but definitely there.
I'll admit I took it a few steps afield with the whole military-industrial line, but honestly it's completely consistent. Caffeine in large doses is good for the company. Whether it's good for the worker or not is highly debatable.

^ Sarcasm is not the same thing as flaming, I'm sorry. I thought your post sounded paranoid, and I called you on it, though admittedly using a roundabout manner. Perhaps I toed the line a bit, but I still think I was fully within the bounds of board rules. Again, if you have an issue, please take it up with a mod instead of randomly accusing me of flaming, which, as anyone who knows me as a poster should know, is not something I'm prone towards doing.

And I'll just add that while yes, caffeine is a drug, it's a relatively harmless one. It's addictive properties are minimal, and withdrawal symptoms are limited to headaches and irritability. Not only that, but studies have shown that that coffee actually has some health benefits—a lower risk of stroke, for example. It's definitely possible to drink too much, but in moderation, coffee is a long, long way from the worst of vices.
