With movies like Sharktopus and Gatoriod does anyone think the quality has certainly fallen with this channel? I remember as far back as ten years ago the channel had some good original movies. That's all in the past with the wrestling and Sharktopus movies that have taken over.

There's a dead horse being flogged around here somewhere.

Edit to add: Dude, I think you missed the correct forum with almost every thread you have made.

Yeah, this just now occurred to folks? It's been downhill for years. Its first few out the gate were the best. Now the Science Channel is become just like it. All channels have abandoned their notions of exclusive themed or niche programming for anything they can get their hands on that is cheap and people will watch.

Why is TruTV showing Hardcore Pawn? <roll>

I've never been overly impressed by the SyFy/Sci-Fi Channel, but until the end of the run of Farscape/Battlestar Galactica/Caprica they always had some sort of "prestige" program that I was interested in seeing. They also had quite a few miniseries of note (Frank Herbert's Dune, Frank Herbert's Children of Dune, The Lost Room). No longer.

This may be a dead-horse topic, but I never tire of it. :D

Skiffy is a joke. There's nothing I find to be worth watching on that channel. Checked out Alphas - didn't have much faith it would be worthwhile - and it wasn't. I loathe the trend in sci fi to shoehorn everything into a cop-show mold. It was basically Heroes, with all the innovative, exciting and remotely original elements deleted.

Other cable channels are doing better jobs at sci fi. The Walking Dead is the best sci fi show now and Falling Skies is pretty tolerable.

I didn't get the network at all for years. When I discovered it had John Edward, I lost all respect for the people who run it.

In a word: Yes.

It sucked before the name change, but nowadays it seems like they're just grabbing at straws.

I would say pretty much after Ron Moore's version of Battlestar Galactica left the air, and I didn't like the ending too much,I have been watching DVDs of Stargate:SG-1, SG:Atlantis and Farscape on DVD. I got them for $15 dollars a season at Wal-Mart and made my own version of the SY Fy channel , sans the commecials of course. They were the best of what Sy Fy had to offer. With what they did to Stargate Universe, which was a Voyager, Lost in Space,Battlestar Galactica moody, broody show, it lost what made it watchable in the first place. Stargate deserved better!
