^ Mego had the 3.75" figures in 1979 and 1980. But no Uhura, Chekov or Sulu.

Yeah, they were the best scale. DST should have stuck with them, rather than the rather lifeless, statuesque ones they made. You can find them on ebay, at pretty close to the original prices in some cases. I've been thinking of completing my army of Klingons.
It rather upsets me that none of the Trek figures since then have been in that 4.5" scale, since I got so many of them.

I like the idea behind them. But I can't blame the actors for pushing for new uniforms when TWOK rolled around. As pointed out on the first page of this thread, the TMP unis weren't flattering to aging actors' bodies (something Shatner in particular was always sensitive about). And apparently they were a bitch to get in and out of; woe to the actor who needed a last-minute potty break.
And to sit down. Whenever Kirk sits into the Captain's Chair, I cringe on his behalf.Yes, I think I remember hearing how much of a pain it was to go to the bathroom in those things. Lesson: Don't create one-piece costumes.
Jery Ryan had that problem in Voyager.Yes, I think I remember hearing how much of a pain it was to go to the bathroom in those things. Lesson: Don't create one-piece costumes.
The TMP uniforms were just plain butt ugly IMO. The red uniforms were an improvement, although a friend of mine asked why they looked like valets. It seems TMP uniforms aren't liked by too many fans. Despite liking Kirk and McCoy's uniform, I myself think TMP uniforms are the worst in Trek. But I wanted to see if there was anyone who generally loves them, and if so, why. TMP uniform lovers, let your voices be heard!
