Only among Trekkies on the Internet. The "he's that guy who did 'Star Trek' is probably a great deal more accurate" - he had a successful career for fifteen years or so managing a product for Paramount that, oddly enough, no one in the business took seriously or cared about.

I imagine he's sitting in his mansion, counting the millions he made during his run as Trek's producer and laughing at all the people on the Internet who continue to obsess over him.

I hope Rick Berman is on his knees praying to whatever divinity will tolerate his being. I hope he is asking for forgiveness for watering down, enabling shitty writing/scripts, and otherwise driving a once proud franchise deep into the ground. Driving it so deep in fact, that its only salvation is rehashing old characters with new actors so as to try and bribe anyone who has any knowledge of pop culture to go see this new movie.

But he isnt begging for forgiveness from the fans. He is laughing all the way to the bank and some beach in Tahiti.

If I ever see Rick Berman crossing the street I am going to speed up.
