Does anyone know if Spock has been under the command of Pike for a time before Kirk comes aboard with the rest of the crew, as it was with TOS? Like maybe on another ship?

Another thing I don't get is, are they all coming out of the academy and getting assigned to the Enterprise? or are some characters established officers getting transferred?

Well, it all screwed at the moment.

Whos where and wheres who?

Time travel can change anything.

Personally, the 'buckle up' scene looks as if they are on Pike's Enterprise as guests or visitors or trainees, then, like TWOK, the cadets are caught up in the shit.
