Does anyone get Sisko right?

Ben Sisko and more appropriately, Avery Brooks is a bit a "eccentric". What author do you think captured him best? The weird back of the neck scratch, the low growl anger, the "Hammock time!" dad, he's a bit of a nut and i love him. I just want to find an author who captures him the best.

Hmm. While there are disagreements about the Kirk and Picard "autobiographies" (especially the Kirk one), I think the general consensus (in which I'm in complete agreement) is that the author of the Sisko "autobiography," despite having never written any previous ST novels, managed to completely nail the character, possibly better than any other DS9 novelist.

The Millennium trilogy by Judith and Garfield Reeves-Stevens gets basically all of the characters from DS9 right, so that would be my first recommendation. The novelization of Far Beyond the Stars by Steven Barnes is also a Sisko-focused story with a good reputation.

While it is true that Derek Tyler Attico has "never written any previous ST novels," he's hardly a Trek novice, having written short stories for two of the Strange New Worlds anthologies and written quite extensively for Star Trek Adventures as well as articles for Star Trek Explorer.
