Does Anybody Know How Many Seasons of Star Wars:TCW We Will Get?

When the series first premiered, I believed that the series would run for 3 seasons-1 for each year of the war but after listening to the Force Cast podcasts, they seem to be suggesting that there may be more. Has there been any announcements about how many seasons of the series we might possibly get?

I've read they've claimed they'll have somewhere around 100 episodes. Whether that attitude has changed since the time that claim was made (prior to the series release) I don't know.

Anyway, I'm really beginning to think in this second season the show is coming into its own. The lighting, animation and writing have generally been a step up from the first year.

If it's going to be about 100 episodes, I'm guessing we will be getting about 5 then. If that's the case, great!:techman:
I agree with you about the quality of the show. The show, which I already really enjoyed in S1 has gotten even better this season and the last 3 episodes were REALLY stellar! I could definitely enjoy another 3 seasons of this show, although I hope that they eventually do another series set during or after the OT because that is where there is a REAL "goldmine" of storytelling possibilities there just waiting to be tapped.

I've always heard that they are planning a hundred episodes. Haven't read or heard if this has changed in the past two years.

The standard practice for television shows is to keep producing episodes until the Nielsen ratings drop too low, regardless of whether they have produced one season or twenty. Is there any reason to believe this show will be any different?

I just finished watching the first season of TCW last night. Good to hear season 2 is good. The last episode of season 1 was not terrible, but I was not too impressed with it.

Well, there's the fact that Lucasfilm produced this in-house before any network had even bought it. Lucas is rich enough that he can do that without having to worry about such things as ratings. If he wants to make a hundred episodes, that's what he'll do. Whether Cartoon Network wants to broadcast them is another matter. By the same token, if they wanted him to make more than a hundred episodes and he refused, what are they gonna do? He's George freakin' Lucas.

I recall too that Lucas said if he'd not found distribution that he would've just showed the episodes on StarWars.Com.

That's standard practice for live action series. Standard practice for weekly animated series is to cease production after 52-65 episodes have been produced, although some huge hits will be rebranded and produce another run of episodes once they reach that threshold. Lucas, though, is obviously in a position where standard practice doesn't apply to him.

Season 2 is very impressive so far. They just finished up a 3-part story arc with..........Mandalorians!!!! They had a real impressive 5-part "Return to Geonosis" story arc as well featuring several different Jedi characters we haven't seen much of- Ki Adi Mundi, Luminara Unduli, and Barris Offee. I believe that end of the initial episode of that arc, "Landing At Point Rain" featured an homage to a famous WW2 movie.

I've only seen the premier episodes and have missed the rest of the season since I don't have cable at my place. I remember hearing Lucas say too that if they weren't able to get a network they would just show them online. I'm pretty sure he's okay with thinking outside the box and using unconventional media to show his products if he needs too.
