Doctor Who Series Five Soundtrack or Lack of One

@Steve Mollman what's surprising about this title? The specials all had series four production numbers.

I've never seen the Specials referred to as part of Series 4 in promotional materials, though-- the DVD boxsets, Doctor Who Magazine, episode guides, and so on all refer to them as their own, independent, between-seasons thing.

Ah I see what you mean perhaps that was just a previous marketing decision not to promote them as part of series four. The scripts as I pointed out (and they're available on the writer's tale website) all have series four production numbers on them with End of Time being 4x18 I believe. I found it interesting that they have called the CD Series Four: The Specials. I suspect it has to do with differentiating them from the series five CD as lame as that reasoning might be.

Confirmation on the news section of Doctor Who Online at the bottom of the Specials soundtrack tracklist article that the Series 5 soundtrack will be out in November.

Here's the official track list for both discs and good call on Samurai's part predicting the first disc would contain music from the first three specials. The second disc is all End of Time.

No I actually thought it would be two and two. This is better. They packed three specials on one disc and the end of time gets it's own CD

My guess
CD1
The Next Doctor and Planet of the Dead
CD2
The Water Of Mars and The end of time.

23. Song for Ten (Reprise)

Oh please let it be the version we heard at the end of "The Christmas Invasion" That version never got a release.

It was on the BBC website, on one of the Advent calendars. Should still be, as a matter of fact. It was not without effort, but it was possible to get it onto your computer more permanently.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was an instrumental version, like from "School Reunion."

How can there be three versions of Vale Decem?

I just noticed that Amazon UK has pushed back the release date of the Specials Soundtrack to Oct 4th...it was previously listed as coming out Sep 21. Wonder what the reason is.
