Do you want the Kelvin Universe to continue?

Well, some years have passed now. The 5 year mission should be over by now. If the same amount of story time has passed as real time, it should be the TMP era now. V'Ger still coming? I assume it is. Sulu should be a commander at the start of the film and made a captain at the end, maybe even Captain of the Excelsior . Maybe throw in TAS characters too on the Enterprise. Maybe M'Ress. That cat species could be executed very well today.

They have already did a remake of the Khan story, so maybe another shot at V'Ger. Kirk has spent 2 or 3 years since being Ent captain. Like Prime Kirk, maybe he has lost sight of being a Captain as his first, best destiny. And the V'Ger emergency gives him an opportunity to return to command the refitted 1701-A.

I always thought Spencer Perdriau's alternate version of the 1701-A could work as the Kelvin universe version of the Excelsior Class with possibly a Kirk-commanded Enterprise-B.

That would require a time jump (V'Ger won't arrive until 2273), but it could still work...

Yeah, and I am not sure what year it was supposed to be during the last film. But if the 2009 film was mostly in 2258, and that film was 14 years ago, it should be about the 2270s now if 14 years of story time also passed since the events of the 09 film. That's how I was reckoning that. But I think they should get some themes and events from TMP thru Generations. I would drop that people stay on the same ships, doing the same jobs for 30 years. So after the 5 years together, they all get new, different assignments and go their own ways.

Kirks been on shore duty for a couple of years but thinking about that empty chair on the bridge of the Ent, Spock is a Captain but living on New Vulcan now, the other crew are various other ships or starbases or dead now (Chekov), someone else commands the Ent-A, etc. A mix of TAS and TMP characters are the crew of the Ent now. Maybe Scotty is still Engineer. But the V'Ger emergency brings them together. Kirk gets the Ent, and wants Bones, Spock, Uhura, etc back too.

I'm pretty sure Beyond was set in 2263, because Kirk was freaking out about turning 30, which meant he had officially outlived his father.

Ok. And that came out 7years ago, so it would be approx 2270 now. 14 years since 2009 would be 2272, so they are both in the ballbark of the TAS/TMP era. Would be interesting to see Kelvinverse Arex, Ilia, Decker, M'Ress, Saavik, etc. But I would take the refit Constitution idea and the Excelsior Class and smoosh them together and just use the Perdriau Enterpris or something like it. John Cho is 50 years old, and while he looks younger and plays a Sulu who is younger, I would move up Captain Sulu to the 2270s, not the late 2280s. TOS Movie era has lots of potential IMHO.

I take it you didn't see the video he made where he demanded a billion dollars from Paramount to use his design.

Even though they never asked.

(The guy does have legit MH issues, and the video was since deleted but bizarre is an understatement)

It can be a different design. I did like the cross btwn the Excelsior and Refit Constitution. I think those are aesthetically the best two ships ever made for Trek and blending the two can produce something that is also very good. Doesn't have to be the one he made, but it is a nice one.

^ me too, but sadly I suspect too much time has passed. It looks like the focus for the franchise is now on new tv shows (which is great) and no longer on the movies. I only saw Beyond for the first time last year and it was amazing.

I would like for more Kelvin movies to be made but the studio seems to have a lot of issues with the script and wrangling all the famous & busy actors.

I would not be opposed to a movie that follows a handful of the original cast and sends them off on their own adventure. Like, say, Captain Spock gets his own ship and brings Scotty along and they have a whole adventure with a new cast. Perhaps an aging Admiral Kirk, bitter with cynicism, is forced to take command of a ship and saves the day. Perhaps Captain Sulu commands the Excelsior and has an adventure against the Tholians. Whatever, I do not care. I just want another movie

I really want to see at least one more Kelvin Universe movie, and was thinking that since the actors are now where it would be in the TMP age range, maybe do a movie that would be the Kelvin version of the time between TMP-TWOK. Have the 1701-A but for uniforms have something that would take them toward the movie era.

This universe's Kirk would then take the Vice Admiral's post somewhere, Spock becomes Captain, etc.

I really want there to be more Kelvin, but the point of the Kelvin Universe is not to just redo TMP, then redo TVH etc. If that's what it was going to be, I'd rather they didn't do it.
Plenty of room to explore between TMP and TWOK in the calendar.

Exactly. In fact, no need for TWOK/TSFS etc to have happened at all. There's no Vulcan for a reborn Spock to restore himself on for a start.

New sandbox, new stories.
I agree. Was just using the two in-universe stories as chronological markers.

Of course, more time has passed between ‘09 and today than between the end of TOS and TWOK. Kinda puts the timing in perspective.

Seems really stale and dated at this point, I'd let a younger generation take a crack at it with a new reboot without those huge salaries. Make something energetic and more in fitting with the times. No need to go backwards and dig up the corpse to see if it can still fit into a Starfleet uniform.

It'd be great to see some talented up-and-coming actors paired with writers who actually have something to say through the Star Trek prism.
