Do You Want Chloe To Die?

Do You Want Chloe To Die?

None of these characters really do anything but wander around in the dark not trusting each other. Don't blame it all on Chloe.

She's not a complete idiot. She acted as Young's attorney in "Justice" and figured out the maps in "Lost".

As to Wray, she wants to share command of Destiny, and thinks the civilians should have a voice in decision making.

Why?

It is a military funded mission, it is in a military setting, facing constant danger and threat of enemy attack. You signed up to serve under military command presumably.

Well, Wray didn't. She was assigned by the IOA to serve as their watchdog over the Icarus project.

However, you are right the rest of the civilians signed up to serve under military command which is why the mutiny storyline made absolutely no sense at all.

Edit: Laura Roslin had to fulfill a similar role to Camille Wray and yet she wasn't a dislikeable character. She had a sense of humour, a sense of mischief and when she butted heads with the military it wasn't always clear whose position was correct. In fairness to Wray, I don't think she is universally wrong but the heavy focus on the military characters cons us into believing that our loyalties should lie exclusively with them. They need to shift some of that focus.

The difference, though, is that Roslin was *correct* about being IN CHARGE -- she was the PRESIDENT. Wray just wants power she has no authority to have.

I voted "don't kill her". I don't actively dislike Chloe, or any of the other characters for that matter, but I only tune in to see Rush and Young. They're the only stand-outs, for me. Scott and TJ have potential, and I suppose Eli was always just intended to be comic relief, so I don't expect much there.

I think the characters you have cited plus Chloe and Greer are the 'main' characters in the show with strong, albeit not necessarily appealing, personalities. Wray and James, are tier two and the scientists are tier three characters. They need to work harder to make the supporting characters distinguishable so that they can hold their own and get noticed when given something to do (I honestly couldn't name a single member of the science team right now). If they don't we wont really care when any of them dies.

Volker, Brody, and Park are the third sting? They've gotten more good bits in the entire season than Wray and James.

Ok, I promise I will try to remember their names. They deliver lines but they don't have the same impact as Wray and James. If you swapped the lines among them you wouldn't think, hey, that line didn't sound like Volker...

I'd notice if they swapped Brody and Park. I'm sure all the military guys she's fucking would notice, too.

I'd like to see an ep. with just Rush, Eli, Volker, Brody, and Park. Let the brainiacs solve some kind of science mystery and save the day.

I'd notice too and yet I'm not totally averse to the notion... :alienblush:

Actually, is she shagging more than one? The Greer/Park thing is something I'd like to see a bit more of - a relationship between two characters who don't seem like a good fit - it could be interesting to see that develop.

According to Stargate Wiki, we've seen her with three. Greer, the guy Lara Croft executed in the finale, and another no-name soldier. And she's got an estranged boyfriend back home she'd like to patch things up with, according to the Kino video she made for him (though I somehow doubt the homemade pornography in the middle helped her case. Eli must've just been so overjoyed when he cataloged that tape).

Lol! I didn't know any of that. I suppose they've been on Destiny for about 7 months? Three in 7 months isn't so many. Still, they really need to give this character more 'airtime'

And in that episode it is implied he'd been sleeping with more. Or at least that's how I interpreted it when she awkwardly told TJ she passed the time by "reading."
