Pardon my excessive curiosity, but I gather that the 27th starship to bear the name would be the Ent-Z (since the first had no letter), but what letter(s) would the 28th have?

Sometime in the 39th Century, after 1701 years of discussion the NX-01 was retroactively added to the list of "Starships to bear the Name". The timeline was also altered in 2279, when Section 32 (a bit like Section 31, but with a timeship) went back onto the Enterprise during the V'ger incident and hung a picture of the NX-01 on the back wall of the Recreation Lounge.

I always wanted to see a 24th century film or TV movie with mixed cast members. That way you have three settings (Enterprise, DS9, Voyager) and about a dozen or so characters. You can limit the three captain's to a cameo, and it would reduce the cost of the film.

Ugh, no. Crossovers are hard enough to pull off in the novels and occasional TV episodes without seeming ridiculously forced. I would not pay $9.00 to watch the continuing adventures of Riker, Ezri, and Harry Kim (picking three names at random). I wouldn't even waste a free ticket or a movie theater gift card on that.

No chance. What with its spinoffs and lukewarm films, TNG is a dead horse well over-beaten. On the other hand, if Trek 11 is a success and inspires a series of subsequent nuTREK films, I wouldn't be surprised to see a few TNG-era actors popping up in cameo roles, a la Dorn as Colonel Worf.
