Do you think the robot is going to be a character or just a prop?

I got to say I wouldn't mind if it was giving some personality and was the shows version of a droid in "Star Wars." I figure the robot,Harry Mudd and the fungus guy could be the show's most reliable places for humor on the show. Even if the robot doesn't talk you can still give it some personality.

DANGER WILL ROBINSON!

I don't know. I think it will be used in the series, but having the robot as some form of comic relief needs to be avoided, as far as I'm concerned. That's too Lost in Space.
I was thinking more along the lines of R2 D2 or the new one from "Force Awakens" if you wanted it to be a important part of the show. If not then something more like that robot who helps out Tony Stark who blasts him with foam while he was working on his Iron Man suit.

It would be novel if they could do a robot or android that did not become sentient at any point and had no interest in it.

I was talking about the robot that had the ship name written on it.
I thought when the trailer came out we settled on it actually just being a guy in a helmet, because you can see his neck and that he's wearing a uniform.

I never heard of that idea.

I think this thread has run its course. Robot which may not be a robot should/should not be used as comic relief, and everyone is happy/annoyed. Perfect.
