Do you think SW The Clone Wars will beat The Dark Knight this weekend?

Re: Do you think SW The Clone Wars will beat The Dark Knight this week

Here are the box office estimates for Friday:

1. Tropic Thunder - $8.2 million
2. The Clone Wars - $6.25 million
3. The Dark Knight - $5 million

If The Clone Wars keeps that pace, it may actually beat The Dark Knight. Tropic Thunder, barring a huge drop, definitely will.

But...but...

...everyone was SO SURE that it couldn't!

I'm quite surprised that so many of you thought that a month-old movie could keep ahead of Clone Wars, but that's what most of the predictions were.

Oh well, maybe Sunday will be a total reversal and everyone will be proven correct.

And we were. :D

Weekend estimates are just in:

1. Tropic Thunder - $26 million
2. The Dark Knight - $16.79 million
3. The Clone Wars - $15.505 million

Everything went according to plan. :D

Re: Do you think SW The Clone Wars will beat The Dark Knight this week

I can't say how thrilled I am that The Dark Knight stayed ahead of Clone Wars. As I said in another thread, it was a double victory against Star Wars: first outranking it as the second highest grossing film of all time, and second by beating it at the box office for #2.

Way to go, Batman. :D

Re: Do you think SW The Clone Wars will beat The Dark Knight this week

This just in: in response to Tropic Thunder finally unseeding The Dark Knight as the top box office draw, Warner has hired for the next Batman movie -- Robert Downey, Jr. as Riddler, Jack Black as Penguin, Matthew McConaughey as Deadshot, Nick Nolte as Rupert Thorne, Tom Cruise as Hugo Strange and Ben Stiller as Mad Hatter. :)
