Sadly she was found stabbed to death in a Hobart suburb yesterday. Poor girl.

It seems that she had broken up with her boyfriend a couple of days ago. He was found hanged in the same house as she was found dead.

I can't understand why any person who would kill after breaking up with someone.

She was only 24, studying journalism at the University of Tasmania, with a promising career ahead of her.

It seems that he also had a promising future. Everyone who knew him says what he did was totally out of character and Sammi had never expressed any fear of him.

Maybe he just hid his problems well.

Or it was not planned. He killed himself when he realized what he had done.

Almost all are committed with the same weapon. This fact alone would make me investigate more deeply.

I can think of at least two other murder-suicides that occurred in Tasmania where different methods were used. In one a man slit his daughters' throats with a knife, went and posted some letters explaining his actions, returned to his farm, cut his hand off with an axe and then shot himself in the head with his rifle.

In the other case the man killed a woman he had been arguing with, ran down the street crying "what have I done, what have I done" before jumping into the water.
