Do you think people care about physical appearance in the same way?

But on a TV show everyone wears makeup, which is "supposed" to be makeup and which isn't?
Some are more obvious such as T'Pring in "Amok Time." And many Vulcan women before the TNG era had ornate hairdos and fingernails. Plus, Vulcan clothing is often pretty elaborate rather than the bare-bones minimalist approach that might be expected from a species that's so focused on logic.

It's Roddenberry's message not to care about physical appearance, it's the spirit of Star Trek.
The idea of anti racism not just on earth but in the whole universe.

Well, the Vulcans there are very biased too against nonVulcans so maybe they are not so logical ;)
