My cars are male, and get names starting with "G."
My first car was a light green 1986 Buick Somerset--his name was Griffin. Everyone knew him by that name...co-workers, my grandmother, the mechanic.
My cars with Hubby were/are:
A dark green 1996 Pontiac Grand Am--his name was G'kar. Guess the source.
A white 1997 Chevy Malibu--his name was Grommit. Again, guess the source.
A light blue 2003 Toyota Highlander--his name is Galahad (Gally). Well, he's a highlander, he needed a highland-ish name.
A dark blue 2006 Toyota Camry Solara--his name is Gilgamesh. He's kinda a royal blue so he needed a royal name.
I prefer the names to fit the car in some way. None of my cars seemed like a "George" but if I get a funky-looking car, I'll probably go with "Grendel."
