Do you name your cars? If so, what?

My cars are male, and get names starting with "G."

My first car was a light green 1986 Buick Somerset--his name was Griffin. Everyone knew him by that name...co-workers, my grandmother, the mechanic.

My cars with Hubby were/are:

A dark green 1996 Pontiac Grand Am--his name was G'kar. Guess the source.

A white 1997 Chevy Malibu--his name was Grommit. Again, guess the source.

A light blue 2003 Toyota Highlander--his name is Galahad (Gally). Well, he's a highlander, he needed a highland-ish name.

A dark blue 2006 Toyota Camry Solara--his name is Gilgamesh. He's kinda a royal blue so he needed a royal name.

I prefer the names to fit the car in some way. None of my cars seemed like a "George" but if I get a funky-looking car, I'll probably go with "Grendel."

I certainly do. My cars are all female:
(From oldest to most recent)

1984 Ford Tempo - "The Funkmobile" (It was beige and had fuzzy dice and shag carpet)
1991 Plymouth Acclaim - "Rainmaker" (Wipers never worked, headlights would stop working randomly, brakes would fail once in a while, no airbag)
1993 Pontiac Grand Am SE - "Michelle the Gazelle" (I got my one and only speeding ticket in this car)
1996 Pontiac Grand Am GT - "Sweet Delilah" (I miss this car. She was fast, but got repo'd. Long story)
1987 Pontiac Grand Am - "Myrtle" (as in "The turtle". It was slow. Also, I hit a truck tire with this one)
1995 Chevrolet Beretta - "Teiharerriani" (I loved this car so very much)
1999 Monte Carlo LS - "Karrira" (Current car)

^ Now I got this vision of you and hubby having this dialogue whenever you go driving:

You: Atomic batteries to power. Turbines to speed.
Hubby: Roger. Ready to move out.

;)

I didn't start naming my car until the current one, but I'll also list my siblings' cars, too:

1990 Nissan Sentra -- Box
2004 Chevy Impala -- Jezebel
2006 Nissan Sentra -- Sofia

My 1969 Schwinn -- Serenity

Not cars, but each of my wheelchairs have been named Enterprise. Since 1985, I've had four. The one I just got is named Enterprise-C.

My computers name is "Data". But sometimes his name is "Fuck you fucker, work!" and other longer names riddled with swear words.

My cars have been female. My first car was Betsy, which was first just a place holder name until i thought of something better. I didn't so the name stuck. My current car's name is Sally.

I don't drive but I do tend to name things so i doubt this would be an exception.

Is it nerdy that I named my calculator?

My 2000 Cougar is named Selina.

My '93 Grand Prix before her was simply called "Fuckin' peice of shit" most of the time.

used to call my -89 ford probe: "probie" but it was my 10 year old cousin who came up with it. it kind of got stuck since then.

my mother's astra H is called "dragon" for some reason and my fathers saab 9-3 is called sasha (licence plate is "ssh").

my favorite is my father's old volvo he had in the 80's. modified to run on some sort of gas. i think it was butane but i'm not sure. it was called "franky" from frankenstein

1999 Chevrolet Cavalier (green)- Hunter
2006 Hyundai Elantra (gold)- Nemo (beauutiful car with a tiny rusted spot under one of the doors)
