I only eat the crust on pizza if it's thin crust. If it's think I eat the slice up to the crust and toss it. Though if I get some garlic butter dipping sauce along with it. Then I'll eat the crust. I love garlic butter.

NOW we're talkin'!

i make my own pizzas. i make sure the cheese gets right to the edge.

Now there is an idea...wonder if I can get the ingredients here...

Pizza crust usually, toast crust ew no.

Welcome to the Board, Gwen! By your screen name, may I ask, do you know of Jordan's Granola?

And quite obviously pizza crust is as excellent and highly edible as any other part of a pizza.

These things are so obvious they shouldn't even need to be said, really. :p
Even if it is all plain and yellow-ish and just sitting there with no cheese or no sauce or no good pepperonis or sausages or veggies or nothing on it whatsoever?...except teeth marks?...even then??? :wtf:
Of course. It's pizza crust. It's (an essential) part of a (proper) pizza. What more need be said?

Forgotten is the venerable pie crust. It is easy to make a bad one, but if done right will enhance the 'pie experience'.
I immediately judge a pizza based on the crust I see. It needs to be a proper, bubbly, browned crust with about an inch crust visible on the outside, properly framing whatever toppings may be applied. It cannot be, under any circumstances, like a bread dough.

^ I have spent years perfecting pie crust. It has now reached the point where my husband eats the crust around the outside and I eat the filling. I even use the leftover pie dough to roll out little cookies which I sprinkle w/ cinnamon & sugar for snacks. They never last long!

*THINK* - I did rush over here to look for this - you blew my mind with the crustacean thing. Crusts + crustaceans = magic!!!!

As for the Krusty the Clown option - you never disappoint.

...Pizza Hut is just about the nastiest pizza I've ever had. It makes me sick every time I eat it. After complaining to one of the higher ups in the company, they told me people like the sweeter crust. They add sugar to the crust to sweeten it! Blech!

Ugh. I must not be people then. Pizza crust should not be sweet. At all. Ever.

I feel the need to feed everyone on this forum GOOD food.

Bring it ON !!!

Do share your recipe - and just as importantly, the cooking method. The way the pie is baked and the temperatures are just as important as the flour/fat/water/etc/resting ratios. Is your oven convection? So many variables.
