I voted:

Bread and toast crusts have extra goodness.
French toast is when I save the edges for last.
Potato skins have extra nutrients.
The darker burned edges of meat are grand.
The edges of cheese logs and wheels are intense.

I almost voted for the pizza crust, too, but it really depends upon who made the pizza. Someone like Richard's (a local chain), Cassano's, or Donato's? Yeah, I'll gladly eat the crust, but Domino's, Little Caesar's or Pizza Hut crusts get thrown in the trash, as they are nasty and sickly tasting.

See here's the thing. Pizza crust should be gluteny, chewy, golden with air bubbles fetchingly bursting forth. It should be delicious. You should look at it and want to eat it.

If your pizza crust is a dried out floury piece of bread that exists only as a handle for the rest of the pizza then your pizza is shit. Unfortunately a lot of pizza is shit, many chain pizza places don't even make the pizza base in store. It is shipped in frozen and they assemble the pizza on top of it.

Expect, seek out and demand the real deal!

For us that would be Richard's Pizza, and damn do they make good pizza! It's pricey, but the quality is there. On the other hand, Pizza Hut is just about the nastiest pizza I've ever had. It makes me sick every time I eat it. After complaining to one of the higher ups in the company, they told me people like the sweeter crust. They add sugar to the crust to sweeten it! Blech!

Bread, toast and pizza. Get nice wholemeal or brown bread sandwich/toast and it's better than ordinary white.

As I have stated elsewhere, the crust is the best part of any loaf of bread. :bolian:

Indeed. A decent loaf of bread has an excellent, tasty crust. And a proper crust is what turns a good pizza into a great one.

Only picky-preschoolers need the crusts cut-off. :p

<HIjol raises his little pizza sauce-stained hand, his crusts on the floor, "Miss Auntie, I gotta go to the pottie!"

I'm a 0. I hate crust. I don't like burnt, I don't like crunchy. I will eat pizza crust if it is stuffed crust, or if I have enough ranch to dip it in.

I hate bread crust so much. It's dry and makes me gag. Except for sourdough, everything about sourdough is perfect.

Spot does not like it dry, you see.
Spot does not like it burnt, like Me
Spot likes it dipped or stuffed; with cheese?
Spot sourdough? it aims to please! :techman:

Eat it all or don't eat it at all.

Well Said! :techman:

I voted...

Pizza crust is very important.

I usually dip it in sauce, like ranch or garlic butter in between slices. :)

bread and toast crusts have extra goodness.

I don't have a weird thing about this.

Potato skins have extra nutrients.

Always leave the skins on. :bolian:

Strange no one is discussing the thinker who thought up the crust of krusty the clown.?

[yt]https://youtube.com/watch?v=_1Fuqhd1otc[/yt]

What could cause a person to eat said crust of krusty? Why?

It is like that option was,..blocked out by some kind of content filtering system? I seem to get this problem with some posts too or like that science fiction fantasy section thread I did. People looking at it,, no replies? And the thread is going to die? Mm mm so, maybe it needs a second "clarification" post to be done,,,, those science fiction fantasy peeps are going to take some time to get used to.

Nite peeps in the lounge,..

And quite obviously pizza crust is as excellent and highly edible as any other part of a pizza.

These things are so obvious they shouldn't even need to be said, really. :p

Even if it is all plain and yellow-ish and just sitting there with no cheese or no sauce or no good pepperonis or sausages or veggies or nothing on it whatsoever?...except teeth marks?...even then??? :wtf:

Orac Zen is explaining that a good pizza is a good pizza in all its parts.

You can't have nice toppings on a crap base and have a good pizza. Apparently a lot of folk have not had real pizza bases made in store from dough but have ended up eating the frozen crap chain stores use.

I should mention that I don't mind the potato skins staying on for red potatoes, but not for my trusty russets!

I only eat the crust on pizza if it's thin crust. If it's think I eat the slice up to the crust and toss it. Though if I get some garlic butter dipping sauce along with it. Then I'll eat the crust. I love garlic butter.

When I cook a Digiornos, I butter the crust before cooking, so it comes out nice & soft. Plus I usually have some Papa John's or Dominos garlic butter dipping sauces in the fridge that I dip the crusts in.

Rocky Rococo's pizza has a delicious crust, probably also buttered. Definitely more flavorful than just dough.
