I can't stand roller coasters. I totally do not understand why people would enjoy that. The falling stomach sensation is just terrible! Sure the view is cool but it's painful! And of course the coaster has the longest lines in the park. The only way I would like a roller coaster is if it never went above 20 mph or something :P

How bout you?

I liked them when I was a kid, but I grew out of them. The last coaster I went on (speaking of coasters going only 20 mph), was a kiddie coaster at Coney Island a few years ago -- I'd taken my nine year old charge and her friend on a play date. The funny thing was that there was also an Orthodox Jewish camp there at the time, and the poor grumbling kiddie coaster operator had to go out after each ride and exasperatedly collect all the yarmulkes that had fallen off the little boys.

I don't *like* them but I don't mind them. I don't particularily enjoy the experience, but I like the little adrenaline rush you get when the ride's over.

I love 'em. To me the falling sensation is not at all disagreeable, but exciting, as is the exhilaration of speed.

Getting motion sick and disliking swift and exciting movement is an alien concept to me.

I enjoy some of them. Here in Ohio, we have King's Island, and my favorite ride out there is "Flight of Fear". Lots of fun. My best friend went there last week and rode the new Diamond Back. Here's what it's like:

I think he rode it about six times.

I"ve never liked them, but I went on a few of the mid-level horror ones in the past and survived. The worst part was the upside down loops. As the years have gone by my fear of heights has really intensified and I've grown very used to always having my feet on the ground so they'd terrify me know. Last month my GF and I went to Vegas and stayed at the Stratosphere. They have these rides at the top where they basically hang you off the edge of the building. That's over a thousand feet in the air. Needless to say we stayed in the observation deck behind the heavy glass. We did think it was funny that before you go up there is a bar selling shots.

I love coasters. But I'm kind of a freak because I really love the wooden ones. They don't go in loops or do anything fancy like that, they just go fast and knock you around.

I can be talked into the wussy ones (no loops, not 200 feet+ in the air).

But I don't really like them. I kinda understand why people do.

This means places like Cedar Point are a waste of my time. Oh, well.

^It really is, isn't it?

I LOVE roller coasters. I love the feeling when your butt comes off the seat as you zoom down a hill, the rush of doing the loops, the feeling like your flying, the excited/terrified jitters that come over when the ride is just about to start.... but sadly, it's been years since I've been on one.

But there's nothing like a roller coaster---to scream and laugh and then whoop and holler with joy.

*SIGH*

I wish my hubby liked roller coasters. I miss them.

Take him on "Flight of Fear" at King's Island. That was my first real coaster. My friend tells me, "This doesn't go upside down or anything. It's fast, but not much else." So I got on. What happens? 2 seconds after we rocket up to 60 miles per hour, we hit the first of several HUGE loops. My head's hitting side to side, and I look over at him and I yell, "You..." LOOP "asshole!..." LOOP "I'm going..." HUGE TWIST "to kick..." LOOP "your ass!..." TWIST CORKSCREW LOOP PLUMMET "Jackaaaaaaaaaaaaass!"

I abhor roller coasters with a fiery passion. The only time I've ever ridden one was at Paul Bunyan Land. It was this little rickety-ass thing that wasn't all that safe and I can remember that I hated every second of the ride.

I'm not a big fan of roller coasters; I used to go on from time to time when I was younger. The last time may have been the Super Duper Looper at Hershey back in the 80s; or maybe the one at Rocky Point in Rhode Island. I don't really like the feeling of falling. The final drop-and-splash was my least favorite part of Kooky Kastle, which was my favorite ride at Paragon Park. :rommie:

I enjoy them now more than I did when I was younger - but I still won't choose to go on them. I can be persuaded with the right incentive though...

I don't really enjoy many rides that make me feel as though I am falling - I understand that it's all about the adrenaline, it just doesn't do anything for me.
