My PS3 is the only media device I have. Blu Ray, DVD, Netflix, video games...
720p is HD and is better than the SD video of DVD, so you can still benefit from BD.
It can't be that hard, since you don't have either now.720p is HD and is better than the SD video of DVD, so you can still benefit from BD.
I know, but when you work with 2160 week after week it's hard just having 720.

The only thing putting me off buying A Blu ray player is that I would then have to re-buy all my DVDs. That would be a major expense considering the quantity I own.![]()
I was a victim of bad timing. I bought a new tube tv in 2006, but then everything went digital a couple of years later and I couldn't afford to get the digital converter. Maybe I'll wait until that tv is 10 years old.I've thought about getting a new tv, but I don't have cable, so not sure if the tv's can pick up anything with an indoor antenna.
If it's HD ready, it can pick up over-the-air HD channels.

What I find most funny about the "I'll have to re-buy all my DVDs" argument is that, even IF Blu-ray players didn't play DVDs, it's not like the moment you buy a Blu-ray player Best Buy dispatches its blue-shirted goons out to reclaim your DVD player and send it to Electronics Hell. You could actually still use both if you wanted to.
Blu-Ray is hardly a scam. You only have to look at the difference in quality of TNG on DVD and Blu-Ray to see that.
