If you have to explain a joke, it's a dud.

Get back to me when Mirror Universe characters aren't allergic to bright light, even though the lighting levels were the same across universes in every other show. They're evil so they're allergic to bright lights!

They aren't allergic to bright lights. Their irises simply are slower in reaction to sudden brightness changes than ours because their universe is darker. In other series simply there is no sudden brightness changes like i.e. explosions on Harlak so we don't see their reaction.

Nor did they have an issue in TOS, and no issues one hundred years later. How many things can happen in this small period of time that doesn't match up with anything else in the franchise before peop!e get the hint the writers aren't taking Prime all that seriously?
My point exactly

I think arguing about whether or not DSC is the Prime Timeline depends upon how much of a Canonista you want to be. If you want to be nitty-gritty enough, nothing is the Prime Timeline.

The Mirror Universe in DSC is intended to be dark, literally and metaphorically. Lorca, being of the dark, can't stand the light. And can't stand the exposure. Not just literally but also figuratively. Lorca doesn't want to be exposed for who he really is, he doesn't want to see the light, and brightness goes against his blackened outlook.

Anyone who's being too literal is missing out on the touches to Lorca's character and what the Mirror Universe is supposed to be in this series.

They're hung up on "We've seen it before!" So hung up, they've lost sight of any other possibility to discover.

You can personally consider that, but you'd be technically wrong.

No I don't think I am wrong! The look of DSC, technology, uniforms, look of the spaceships, obviously there are more than twelve like it in the fleet here and the ever growing crew of different aliens proves to me that it is another reality or the Federation went through a retro phase in it's Starfleet! Why oh why do these numbskull producers have to upset the applecart and set it before the one show they can't beat or equal in storytelling terms and everything else?

We had 73 hours of TOS and expect to see everything? O_O

Well we didn't see the Gamma quadrant or the Delta quadrant or much if anything of the Beta quadrants! But the rest of it hadn't been invented at that time so how could we have seen it? Plus I know the Beta,Gamma and Delta hadn't been mentioned back then either but...

I don't even think Alpha quadrant was mentioned in TOS. The Full quadrant system wasn't established until TNG.

And I like how no one talking about cloaking devices on Enterprise has bothered to remember that it was gifted to that species from the future and nowhere did it crop up except with the Romulans as a technology of that time. And even the one gifted from the future was less advanced that the Romulan one of that time. Advance a hundred years to Balance of Terror and the that incident showed that the Romulan cloaking device was not perfect. The next time we encounter them in The Enterprise Incident they have improved it and acquired Klingon ships. There is no indication that anyone outside of the Romulans has any idea of the science behind it until the Klingons start using them AFTER The Enterprise Incident.

The Klingon Cloak in DSC also wasn't perfect, they could some what track the ships, but couldn't get a solid target lock.
