^Agreed. The only store branded thing at Safeway/Vons that is worth it is their version of Del Monte Seasoned Green Beans.
The real thing is pretty disgusting too. Same for all of those so-called "cereals" that contain more candy than cereal. Eccch.. . . I don't eat a lot of cereal these days but the one that always stuck out as terrible in store brand was the Lucky Charms knockoff. They just weren't even close on the marshmallows.
I agree 100%.The real thing is pretty disgusting too. Same for all of those so-called "cereals" that contain more candy than cereal. Eccch.
Barriers? You mean, like little walls or fences in your cereal bowl?. . .Even when I was a kid, I proffered stuff like Total, Wheaties, Grape Nuts, etc with barriers for breakfast. Now I'm glad my parents insisted upon it.
Bakers, however, has a great store brand (sometimes "Kroger" sometimes "Big K"). The only product of theirs that I've tried and it hasn't been as good (or better) than the name brand product is their bottled water. Their store brand is cheap, but doesn't taste that way. Their non-food items (trash bags, toilet paper, etc) are just as good as the name brand as well ... and their toilet paper isn't scratchy. It's better than Angel Soft any day of the week.
