Do recent TV shows seem to obviously been filmed during Covid?

Recent posts such as this about Black Lightning's current season made us aware just how much Covid was affecting filming of new material. In this case, a "fight club" scene was developed so that it was just the 2 fighters, and the audience were viewing online, but they were shown on video screens around the ring. Also, the hallways of Garfield High were empty except for the speaking characters.

Also, in Walking Dead's recent episode, the child Herschel was seen, but in a tree, waiting in a tree. He didn't come down to hug her.

Some cases have been much more obvious, such as the Daily Show, or Wards shows.

i was just curious, in the new shows that you watch... have you noticed anything? ANy creative ways (such as the Fight CLub) that it seems like productions are trying to work around social distancing and the like?

Quite the opposite, really. I see stuff that must have been filmed during covid, but doesn't bloody well look like it.

For example: They're 7 episodes into the current season of Blue Bloods and in only this last episode have I seen ANYONE wearing a mask. And nobody seems to be distancing at all.

If not for this last ep, you'd swear there was no pandemic. Hell, they don't even mention it!

Some of the other shows I've watched mention it in passing, but for those, it's mostly lack of extras.

I think I see stuff but I got to say when you watch something were the characters are wearing masks and all this is stuff that is really going to make what they making feel very dated in the future. Anyone watching a rerun of this 10 years from now are going to instantly know what year said episode was made with people wearing the mask and social distancing.

Unless masks become permanent and the lack of them becomes the indicator that a movie or show was either filmed before 2020 or is set prior to then.

So does, This is Us. I'm surprised someone on Walking Dead doesn't just say. The zombie smells are becoming to much. It's making people sick. We need to wear masks around them.

Some show it some don't. Been watching a ABC show called Big Sky and they only vaguely mention it early and then essentially ignore it afterwards. There are some I've seen trailers that show face masks and plastic panels. I personally don't care for it. There's so much of it in real life I don't have an interest in seeing it everywhere when wanting my entertainment.

Fictional characters should not be in masks unless it’s to protect the real life actors. No, we don’t need the thing that’s stressing us out the most in our escapism.

NCIS: Los Angeles is the most notable for me. Storywise, they have mentioned the pandemic in the past tense, but filming - clearly less actions sequences in public places when lots of people are around. And most of the scenes taking place in the OSP HQ have pretty much eliminated background personnel and extras - the only people in the building anymore are the lead characters.

NCIS: New Orleans has completely integrated the pandemic (which is a shame with the show ending, I kind of wanted the show to end in a period when the masks were unnecessary - evidently that won't happen). Instead of lessening the number of actors, they are going all-in on masks and social distancing, but in-universe and as a production.

MacGyver and Magnum PI seemed to have skipped it. They make references to covid having happened.

It's been most noticeable on daytime talk shows. They're doing their best, but you can tell they've been severely limited in what they could do. Although there have also been some interesting tricks used. On Kelly & Ryan, for instance, while they're both in the studio, they film it in such a way that it still looks like they're sitting side-by-side at the same table.

The Blacklist. The agents populating their HQ are just the main characters and no one else unless a guest star has to be there. But if there are any action scenes, suddenly they have nameless troopers running around to be fodder. But all the analysts and agents who used to fill out the background no longer exist.

NCIS was very noticable last night (UK airing) as most of the cast were wearing masks, one had a collection and they had screens up in the interview room.

One of the neurotypical doctors is complaining about how hard it is to read social cues, because of all the masks.

The autistic doctor laughs because the playing-field has been leveled.
