Do people in the Delta Quadrant have no taste buds?

^As if all Alpha Quadrant dishes taste good, including those on Earth....

If we believe the impressive Michael Eddington, most humans and other Federation citizens don't eat REAL food. So it is they who have taste bubs that have never lost their flavour virginity.

Do you think Sisko could have made something edible out of leola root?

No, but I bet his Dad could have made a sweeet jambalaya out of it.
Making leola edible was probably out of Ben's league.

I just remembered something. Back in "Fury", it was mentioned Kes actually liked the taste of leola root.

Also, Seven made a perfectly edible cream of leola soup in "The Void".

That could just say more about Neelix's cooking than leola root itself.

I don't know, correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't there an episode in season 1 or 2 where Chuckles and friends were on a planet looking for food supplies and Neelix passed him a leola root and he tasted it and said it tasted awful?

Didn't it also look similar to ginger? which is quite strong if you use it in large amounts.
