According to the Wikipedia entry "Django Unchained" is scheduled for release in the UK on Jan 18, 2013. As mentioned it opens in North America on Christmas Day.

I saw the trailer for this at a recent movie. I am so NOT interested. It looks like another simple revenge pic with a lot of bad jokes. No thanks.

Ech. I'm not quite out, but this has been demoted to "definite rental" now.
Why? Jonah will most likely playing a bit part anyway. Plus he's being directed by QT. I dislike Hill but this isn't a deal breaker for me.
I used to detest Jonah Hill, but his performances in Moneyball and 21 Jump Street have actually turned me around a bit on him. His role in Moneyball particularly made me curious to see him non-overtly comedic roles in the future.
Frankly, it was almost-definite rental status before Hill joined it. Even with a bit part, that's enough to nudge it down one tic.
It takes a lot to motivate me to spend $12 on any movie. Two or three a year is the most I ever bother with. Everything else goes on the rental pile.
However, one of my three this year will be the Abe Lincoln vampire hooey, thus proving that my standards are not impossibly high.

QT made a surprise splash at SDCC, he was introduced in the Before Watchmen panel of all places where he announced a comic adaption of "Django Unchained"!

^Well, QT has noted to Charlie Rose that eventually, he wants to take up novel writing. Comic-books could well be a step in that direction.

I need to stop watching trailers for this movie, every one one just makes me more disenchanted with it, probably because most of its appeal lies in shock value. Once the shock wears off, all that's left is a vague meh-stupid feeling...
