"Displaced"

Plomeek Broth

Commander
Red Shirt
I just watched this episode for the first time. What are most VOY fans thoughts and your own personal thoughts on this episode? I was fascinated by the spaceship that houses all of the many habitats for the ship prisoners. I thought the alien race looked like a radical sect of Bajorans with their garb. I was glad in the non PC/Federation way Paris and Torres left those 2 aliens chasing them in the snow habitat to die. Strange episode and a strange delivery of the story, but overall pretty solid. :borg:

Many people are down on this episode but personally I feel it is another very strong late season 3 episode. I liked the episode a great deal and I don't care if some people felt the alien's method was slightly illogical, I just found it interesting and entertaining.

I haven't heard too many negative things about this one. it's a pretty solid one, imo.

It's a good episode. Not one of my top favorite episodes but still a good one. The story is good and the way the aliens took over the ship was a good and different concept.

I loved the banter between Chak and the lone ensign at Tactical on the bridge. "Who says there's no room for advancement!" or words to that effect, not to mention all the Paris/B'Elanna and B'Elanna / Harry stuff. :-D

I didn't think it was that bad, but I thought that it was pretty clear at the beginning that there was more to it than random incidents of translocation. After all Voyager was informed that their crewmembers were appearing at the Nyrian Colony, yet they weren't able to speak with their crewmembers? Also if it were a microwormhole as was proposed by the Nyrian scientist then how come they appeared to beam away when they disappeared? No one saw someone vanish? In the one scene an officer is walking with someone that vanishes.

It was a good episode and had the benefit of being aired amongst the stronger episodes of season three.

I liked this episode, but I think I liked the trailer to this episode more. Made the episode more memorable, like most UPN trailers seemed to do.

Meh.
I found it to be forgettable filler.
I did find it humorous that Kes was the first to disappear and nobody noticed.

I really enjoyed this episode. I think it was because I remember seeing the trailer for it before it aired in 1996 or 97 and it had the song "Hey..hey..hey..goodbye..nananana.." on it. VERY CATCHY TUNE! And of course it showed Voyager crewmembers disappearing. I was like..hmm..fascinating!
I liked how the aliens were at first somewhat confused as to why they appeared on Voyager..and then turned out in the end to be the ones who were the cause of the situation of the disppearance in the first place! And there were some good nail-biting scenes with Chakotay being chased by them(personal favorite scene) and of course Janeway's disappearance along with the doc and Kes. I also enjoyed the "I'm NOOT hostile!" scene in the beginning with Tom and B'Ellana. I've forgotten just how fiesty that klingon woman is when provoked!
