Well what I told you all about a year or so ago is finally coming to pass.
Disney has announced the closing date for their popular Star Tours attraction and it will culminate with a big celebration event on the 14th of August marketed at SW fans.
After this, the ride will go down in all four parks it currently appears in around the world(Disneyland, Magic Kingdom at WDW, Tokyo Disneyland and Disneyland Paris)to be refurbed as "Star Tours 2".
Not a great deal is known about the new version but we have heard everything from 3D to the actual top of the simulator being transparent so we can see the stars and ships above and around us(think the old ST simulator in Vegas). Something that was let slip was at some point we will join in the podrace from TPM. before becoming space-borne again.
Either way it's about twelve years too late for this new version but will be happily welcomed when it debuts next May.
