Disney Channel rubbish or great

startrekrcks

Fleet Captain
The shows that I liked watching when I was in my teens Hannah Montana, Lizzie Mcguire. Do you think those shows should be gone or would you like if the Disney Channel brought back something much better and original. Any thoughts on this?

Last time I watched The Disney Channel was for the Duck Tales Movie. That was years ago. Man have they changed so much since then.

I don't like the Disney channel at all anymore. Growing up, I loved DuckTales, Gummi Bears, Rescue Rangers, and Tailspin, then later on The Weekenders, Lloyd in Space and Recess. After that, I lost interest in Disney cartoons.

:techman: Duck Tales is one of the coolest shows ever to a kid. I haven't seen it in many, many years, but I caught the movie a few years ago and it still holds up as a fun romp even to an adult. Also, all these years later, every so often the theme song from Duck Tales, Tale Spin, or Rescue Rangers it bound to pop up in my head. "Some times...some crimes..."

As for the channel these days...no thanks. I'm sure they do very well with the demo they're going for, but that's not really us anymore. It's easy to say kids shows are crappy these days, but there's always the argument that most of the kids shows we used to watch were crappy way back when, too.

I miss the days when they had a show that toured the disney parks, and showed you how certain rides/shows worked. Every weekend they used to have a movie event. I love watching the old 80s Disney Channel ads on You Tube. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wP_W99TLwQw I still loved it when they included the parks as part of the channel. Kind of tided you over 'till your next trip.

I've enjoyed the occasional Disney Channel Original movie over the years. Sometimes its nice to just watch a fun light-hearted movie.

Most of their programming is not really of interest to me though.

Kim Possible was one of my favourite cartoons of recent years, as was Fillmore, even though they treated that like unwanted garbage, unsurprisingly. Phineas and Ferb is pretty amusing too.

Of course I avoid their teen idol stuff like the plague.

I'll admit that I watch Disney Chanel and I'll even go so far as to admit my age (30) I first started watching it back in the summer of 2007 while I was flipping through channels during my recovery from major foot surgery. I started watching "Life With Derek" which I'm a big fan of, "Hannah Montana" (yeah yeah), "Kim Possible"(I loved this show), and a couple of others. I don't really watch anything now all my shows have ended their runs.

Right on.

The Disney Channel is something I'll let my daughter watch all she wants UNTIL she's 12.

It's like...a reverse PG-13 movie...or something.

"Kim Possible" & "Phineas & Ferb" are two of the better shows they've made in recent years. Can't recall anything else of much value since the old school days of "DuckTales" & "Rescue Rangers".

Now if they were to launch "Gargoyles: Clan-Building" I'd be very, very happy.
