His slant on Star Trek is just as awful as his slant on everything else. That is to say, the former is almost always informed by the latter.

I like Robert Meyer Burnett when he talks about old Star Trek but I think he is to harsh on modern Trek. Except for Discovery. That is the only truly bad modern Trek show . Well that and Picard season 2.

I'm still baffled by his 180 flip on Picard 3.

Picard season 3 is pretty good. I can see why he likes it. I am more baffled by him not liking SNW. I can see him having some issues with it.. For the most part it does seem like a show most old school fans would love. I know he liked Prodigy season 2. Also I was right about him. Granted that is kind of like predicting rain in Seattle.

Especially since structurally it's just like Season 1 and 2.

Picard season 1 isn't that bad till the final two episodes. Season 2 might be the worst season of any Trek show of all time. Until Starfleet Academy season 1 that is.

I'm not going to click on any Rob Burnett videos, even when there's no risk that it'll inflict a curse on my YouTube recommendations, but I have to admit I'm kind of agreeing with the thumbnail.

I can also get why he'd like Picard season 3 a lot more than season 1 and 2, because internet polls suggest that most people do.

I haven't seen any polls showing what classic Trek fans and 90s Trek fans in particular think about Strange New Worlds, so I don't know if most old school fans love it or not. But personally, my favourite Star Treks are TOS, TNG, DS9 and Lower Decks, and I'd say only about 3 out of 10 SNW episodes really work for me each season. (2 out of 10 in seasons without Lower Decks crossovers).

I mean, my favorite Trek of all time is TOS.

And I enjoy SNW. As well as Kelvin Trek. And Discovery.

He is rough around the edges from what I have seen but I still like him for the most part. I just feel he is really off base with most of modern Trek. Mostly though I think it's just I really liked his movie 'Free Enterprise" all of those years so I go easy on him. Well I tend to go easy on most people. That's kind of my personality but their are still Youtubers I really find annoying like Nerdrotic and some of those others, yet I wouldn't put him in that category.

Because Terry Matalas reached out to him, as well as other notable Fandom Menace youtubers like Critical Drinker, Nerdrotic, etc by giving them exclusives. You can find them all in photos on social media together chumming.

Which makes me wonder how those guys would have genuinely reacted to S3 had they not been given special treatment.
