I want an inflatable tardigrade with Incredible Mushroom-o-Matic Action!
According to Midnight's Edge, there was supposed to be a full line of Discovery merchandise (licensing was a huge part of CBS' original plan for the show), but apparently, in the wake of how badly the JJ Trek toys did, there was very little interest in the market.
I want to get the Inflatable tardigrade with Kung-fu grip-you-to-shreds action and Commander Landry twinpack.
According to Midnight's Edge.

And everything else you said after this is immediately invalid.According to Midnight's Edge
Why?And everything else you said after this is immediately invalid.
Because Midnight's Edge is not trustworthy, and has been wrong about a lot of things they've said about Star Trek. Why?
Interesting. What makes them not trustworthy? What has been said that has been disproven?Because Midnight's Edge is not trustworthy, and has been wrong about a lot of things they've said about Star Trek.
Do you honestly believe them that CBS lost the rights to TOS, and is illegally pretending to own them? Really? What has been said that has been disproven?
You can see this same type of trend on YouTube especially in the alt-right videos bashing on the new Star Wars films, but that's a story for another time.
Midnight's Edge is a stoker of what I call "nerd anger." They became somewhat well known when they started reporting negative things about Ghostbusters 2016. Once they realized there was money to be made in stoking nerd anger, they began making videos about all sorts of "geeky" franchises to paint them into a negative light, including Star Trek. Not everything they say is false, but ALOT of what they say is bullshit, exaggerated, or wild speculation with nothing to back it up.

Basically, if you see an entire comment section under the video hating on that thing, you can bet the channel panders to that demographic for clicks/revenue.

Though they do seem to sprinkle just enough truth in to leave you uncertain about what's fake and what's not.
CBS are not idiots. They wouldn’t lie about owning the rights to TOS.Yes. This particular issue predates Midnight's Edge. Paramount vs CBS licensing has been a twisted nightmare for a LONG TIME.
I don't know where this fable that they didn't stupidly lose control of half of their IP is coming from. It was for precisely this reason that we never saw a Sovereign class starship or any of the movie assets at all in DS9 - licensing can be a bitch.CBS are not idiots. They wouldn’t lie about owning the rights to TOS.
They own the rights to TOS, designs and all, there is no evidence to suggest otherwise.
