Discovery at STLV. The massive info dump

I'm still waiting to see if they were able to use Majel's voice for the computer in DSC. She recorded phonemes and last year there was a report that the team was working on making it happen.

If it will cost more to pay her estate than it will to find a new voice actor, well...

Surprised, but flattered.
The original Walker-class starship was destroyed in a sneak attack by the USS Underwood.

Good to have a confirmed class name, given we still don't know about the Kelvin. (Never mind how long it took for the Reliant.)

I see Bernd Schneider is already going maximum denialist over the Shenzhou design. It doesn't look sufficiently TOS-like for him, never mind that we have seen a grand total of one TOS-era design to compare it to.

At least he isn't abandoning his site because he dislikes it.

...How's Walker more "confirmed" than Einstein is for Robau's boat? It's not as if a name coined by the designer is really more likely to appear in-universe than a name coined by some novelist writing for TPTB, considering precedent.

The argument really should be vis-á-vis pre-TOS ships because, well, she's one. And the design is chock full of connections to NX-01 for obvious reasons.

The debate then becomes, does she predate the Kelvin and her more TOS-like looks, or postdate her?

Those posters made me realize what I do not like about the Klingon makeup. In most scenes shown so far I had the impression that the actors were squinting. They are not squinting the makeup just looks like that. Up close it works, but from the distance I personally find it a bit annoying.

when the prosthetic blocks part of the inside of the eye it SEEMS like it will make them look more sinister and cooler, but really it makes them look a bit cross-eyed.
