Paramount probably has some sort of exclusivity deal with CBS.
That could very well be.

Between the "Klingons" and Sarek's super secret kid #2, there is nothing to save the show. Since its being produced by the hack that co-wrote my most hated ST thing (Star Trek 09), I'm really, really not shocked that its so crap. I wanted it to be good, and like I said I think the lead to do a great job in a good show. But this is just reminding me of 09 in that its made by people who obviously don't even like Star Trek, along with people who are just bad at their jobs (seriously, the designers should never be allowed to work in the entertainment industry ever again).
The CBS/Paramount relationship is closer to something like KFC and Taco Bell.
I think you're exaggerating. Just look at how people have graded the trailer. So far, around 90% of the votes are A and B. (60% grade it an A).
So it would seem the vast majority of people are enthusiastic or at least not very negative.
Blame DS9 as well.
Maybe people need to take criticism better?
There's criticism and then there's what's happening in so many many fandoms. Fans feel that because they love the show, it should be created around them, their wishes and commands. When it isn't, they cry foul and outrage. Those are two different things. The criticism posted on this forum and around the internet where people are level-headed and claiming to not like the look of certain things but willing to keep an open mind, yeah, that's criticism. But whining like a baby because the warpnacelles don't fit in with what we know from one starship from one show...... No. Just no.
For me, worst of all are those that say (with a twisted sense of pride) 'I will not be watching Discovery'.... this has nothing to do with criticism! At least watch an episode, at least then you'd have earned some credibility to form an opinion.. talk about judging a book by it's cover... or a series on Klingon make-up design.......!
James Frain, who plays Sarek, said he is "her adoptive father in a sense." I assume this "in a sense" means he didn't legally adopt her.Ah, I see what's going on here. Those two sites I mentioned took the idea that Burnham is Grayson's daughter by birth and ran with it, and now some sites are full of fans in panic mode over it (because of course). It was directly refuted by the Star Trek Writing Staff twitter account soon thereafter, but folks aren't seeing that.
Do you actually experience emotions other than hate and anger?
Seriously I can't think of a time I've seen you post anything which isn't about how much you hate someone or something.
Because he is working on Discovery. He's tweeted about it several times. The DSC Klingons are based on unused designs from STID:

Except the females, who look identical to the males.Although I do prefer some of the touches on Page's original ID Klingon designs - the jewellery, the hair, etc.

But this also shows that the Discovery Klingons can easily have hair & look like old Klingons. This bald phase is just a fashion fad, of course![]()
I post a lot of positive things about stuff I like. So, unless you literally read everything I post, this is a ridiculous thing to say. When it comes to Discovery, there is almost nothing for me to like so my opinions are not very positive. But, as a comparison, I'm really excited and positive about Doctor Who and the changes it will be undergoing. So, its all context. In the context of Discovery, there is very little positive for me to say. But, its just one topic.
No, ridiculous would be saying you never post anything positive, which I didn't. I said I can't remember having seen a comment from you which isn't about hating someone or something. This is true, I can't.
Ridiculous would also be the sort of hyperbole you are throwing around about a show you haven't seen. "They shouldn't be allowed to work in the entertainment industry again" is the sort of immature remark that is exactly ridiculous and deserving of no merit at all. It's the kind of comment that gives us a bad collective name as a fandom, an embarrassing reputation for pettiness which makes people laugh at us. Comments like that make us look ridiculous precisely because that's exactly what they are. Ridiculous.
But the choice on what design to use is made by the producers. The main issue people have with these Klingons is the lack of hair, and as you can see in the images @Jarvisimo posted they were always meant to have hair. The bald version was just in the early sculpt before the hair had been added. The producers obviously decided that was a better look and went with it.Well, then he definitely shouldn't be allowed to design anything again.
