Good observation. It may be that the Iconians harnessed the same technology.Is it just me or does it seem as if Lorca and his crew are essentially trying to create an Iconian gateway. The scene In engineering just totally made me think of that.

This being Star Trek I guess there's only one possible way they are going to get rid of the Shroomdrive technology by the end of the show: the subspace fungus network is actually some kind of lifeform which gets hurt when you use the technology so they decide to never use it again. Folks, you heard it here first!

This actually reminded me of the path in B5. Wish we'd seen more of that unexplored story potential.
