Is it just me or does it seem as if Lorca and his crew are essentially trying to create an Iconian gateway. The scene In engineering just totally made me think of that.
There's a Preserver Monolith on one of the moons of Andoria, when Burnham is in the chamber, the spores might have been studied by species like them and been part of their movement in the past.
I'm pretty sure Lorca wasn't listing what Michael was seeing, just listing possibilities I doubt there is a Preserver obelisk in the Andorian system.
Andoria has moons? I thought Andor was the gas giant and Andoria itself was a moon. Maybe it's one of Andor's other moons? Can a moon have a moon?
No idea, given this series is newer. Maybe Lorca has never been there, everyone's hating on Andorians in this series.
In STO, the gas giant Andor has two moons, one of which is Andoria. And I’ve always wondered if a moon can have a natural satellite of its own.

This being Star Trek I guess there's only one possible way they are going to get rid of the Shroomdrive technology by the end of the show: the subspace fungus network is actually some kind of lifeform which gets hurt when you use the technology so they decide to never use it again. Folks, you heard it here first!
This being 2017 Star Trek, the fungal organism (hereafter referred to, rather ironically, as "Funguy") casts eerie but sympathetic echoes of Lorca's dead wife until he breaks down and calls off the research. You heard it here first!
This actually reminded me of the path in B5. Wish we'd seen more of that unexplored story potential. JMS, I know you're reading this.
Good point, OP. I though the exact same thing during that scene. Yeah we know it fails for SF but it's still an interesting concept.
Petition to title its Memory Alpha page "Lorca's kitty" until further notice. Come on, people. 10,000 signatures. Let's show them what we're made of. And I know you're studying Discovery in preparation for more B5, too, JMS. I know you are, JMS. Hello, JMS, yes, hi, please confirm.
Actually, maybe they'll use it to explain why the speed of the plot can get Captain Kirk to someplace easily at Warp One or Warp Two when it would normally take days or months at Warp Factor Nine.
