The same reason Netflix doesn't release numbers is the same reason CBS All Access doesn't release numbers. Their bottom line is based on the number of subscribers, not how well any individual show or movie is doing.
The hilarious thing is such an argument makes no sense as hell, Nielsen ratings work the same way. All they care about is: "Is the TV on and tuned to >Show< at >Time<.So what I’m gathering from what I’m reading the demand expression idea is that even if you mention it or *gasp* produce or even watch a negative video on something you dislike, it counts.
Haters, I’m not sure how to tell you this, but you might actually be helping the evil “STD.”

- IF you are actually watching said show (and commercials)...as you could be in another room, or doing something else and just left the TV on.
It scours and measures downloads, photo sharing, video streaming, blogging, wikis, fan and critical sites and social media postings - a total of one billion data points per day. The resulting data is then weighted by how engaged you are with the show - because 'liking' it on facebook doesn't necessarily mean you like it, and 'sharing' doesn't actually mean you've read it. But if you're writing fan-fiction about Game of Thrones, then most likely you're going to be tuning in. If you've illegally downloaded instead of waiting for it to arrive in New Zealand, then you're definitely a fan. The result is a number that out of context is meaningless, but used in comparison to other shows can tell you what is likely to tank and what's likely to soar.

Internet experience? I’m talking about the real world. It’s usually just MCU and Trump talk there. You need to stop believing your internet experience is everything. Been to Tumblr? How about a fanfic archive? Heck, even a Twitter search would show how wrong that statement is.

You just said "except here," meaning internet.
Wait. Am I missing a joke?
