DISCO S4 Ready Room

I forgot The Ready Room existed this season. Not having these easily available on Paramount+ is bizarre. Something to binge over the break, though.

They are available, but not under every link.

You know how there are different thumbnails on the page for the same show? Clicking some of them start the last episode automatically. Not good for finding RR.

Clicking some of those do not cause the last episode to start playing automatically, you are shown a list of options. This is good for finding RR.

Find one of those then scroll down the options to Ready Room, inside that a list of all RR shows, except for the Matt Miria (SP?) shows. Looks like this...

If we want to talk about seriously tough-to-find modern sci-fi tie-ins, look no further than The Expanse: One Ship.

It's a series of webisodes, to borrow an antiquated term, launching alongside new episodes of the current (and final) season. While none of these shorts feel like the kind of thing that needed to have been included in the main show, they're still quite good, and they help to ease the burden of this season's six-episode briskness.

...They do not show up anywhere at all on Amazon's gaming console apps, nor through several streaming devices. For whatever reason, they are only viewable on browser and mobile versions. The number of people, even diehard fans, who have no clue these things exist really puts things into perspective for me.

I realize this is somewhat apples-and-oranges. But damn. Paramount+ is a pretty rough service overall, given how hard it can be to find shows and such. But at least the content is on there somewhere.:sigh:

The Ready Room for last night’s episode S04E08 All In, featuring an interview with Sonequa Martin Green and David Ajala.

So, it seems Discovery S4 is 11 episodes in length, and not 13? I guess they 'evened out' over the run here as both S1 and S2 were over 13 episodes?

No, it’s 13 episodes. We’re getting 3 weeks of DSC alongside PIC. We’ve had a few legitimate sources confirm it, not the least of which is the Writers Guild entry for Season 4, which has 13 episodes credited, and Wilson Cruz/DSC’s Hugh Culber, in a Facebook discussion about Season 4’s episode length a few weeks ago.

Where is 11 coming from, other than IMDb, which is unofficial, and in this case incomplete?

Edit: ‪‪I see now it’s included on the clip on the StarTrek.com post.

That’s so weird! ‪‪I’m very curious as the what’s caused the confusion/miscommunication, and on what end.

Poor Discovery just isn't a thing in these episodes. I hope they get some coverage for their season finale, sheesh!

It's strange to me that a show basically DESIGNED to promote the Star Trek franchise on Paramount+ feels the need to 'pick one' at a time two shows are airing new episodes.

I get that going forward the plan is to have just one Star trek show streaming a new episode every week as its pretty clear it was Netflix that mandated 13 episodes a season; and going forward, Paramount+ has settled on 10 episodes a season and they are now in full control of every Star trek series having bought out the Netflix contract - meaning S5 of ST: D will be 10 episodes...

But yeah, how expensive would it be to devote time to each show airing a new episode during this period? (Guess the bean-counter answer is: "Too expensive."
