Dillard's Generations

Therin, on the other hand, is saying that he has a paperback first edition that contains the original shot-in-the-back-scene that the hardcover contained.

No I didn't. "The first-printing of the paperback definitely has the as-screened death, not the version in the hardcover." ie. The hardcover (and the YA paperback) contain the original death scene, as originally scripted, filmed, audience-tested, but then replaced. Kirk getting shot in the back. That we eventually saw as footage in the bonus scenes of the DVD.

DarrenTR1970 was claiming that his hardcover and MMPB were identical in content.

Kirk got a better death in Into Darkness and that one lasted 15 minutes.

ok now im imagining the Kirk STID death for Generations... post Soran fight Kirk & Picard back on the Ent D working together to save it from destruction post BOP attack. Kirk in engineering getting irradiated as in STID end (and similar to Ent B opening). Picard on the other side of the glass..'did we do it..did we save the ship..?'...'oh yes..thank you..'...'least I could do..for the captain of the enterprise..oh my'
